About Max Lilja

Known best as one of the founding members of a symphonic metal quartet called Apocalyptica, this Finnish cellist also performed with a heavy metal band called Hevein. He recorded his debut solo album, Plays Electronica By One Cello, in 2013.


He began playing the cello when he was just seven years old and went on to train at the Sibelius Academy, where he was appointed first cellist in the school s orchestra.


His albums with Apocalyptica include Plays Metallica by Four Cellos, Cult, and Inquisition Symphony.
