About Max Scherzer
Strikeout specialist who won the 2013 AL Cy Young Award while pitching for the Detroit Tigers and the 2016 and 2017 NL Cy Young Awards with the Washington Nationals. He helped the Nationals win a World Series title in 2019.
He played college baseball at the University of Missouri and was drafted in the first round by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2006, Missouri s first-ever MLB first-round draftee.
He led the league in strikeouts per nine innings in 2012 with a whopping 11.1 mark. He pitched his first career no-hitter with the Nationals on June 20, 2015.
