About Melba Montgomery

American country music singer who recorded duets with fellow country singer, George Jones, as well as having a successful solo career.


She started playing guitar when she was ten years old and won an amateur talent contest at the Nashville radio station WSM s Studio C ten years later.


She released solo music, including her #1 hit song, “No Charge,” in the 1970s.
