About Mercedes Salazar

Fashion designer who is known for specializing in jewelry, accessories, and some apparel. She shares her works through her self-titled website. She is also known for sharing her design process as well as additional modeling shots through Instagram for her over 190,000 followers. 


She first moved from Colombia to Mexico City in 1994. She studied jewelry and goldsmithery at the artisan school of INBA. In 2001, she returned to Colombia and began her jewelry and design company under her name. She opened her first brick & mortar storefront in 2005. 


In 2015, she was honored as a TED fellow and gave a talk at the Ted x Bogota conference. She is also known for having been accepted as a member of the Aspen Institute Alliance of Artisan Enterprise.
