Horse jockey known as one of the most successful riders of the modern era, earning multiple victories at races like the Breeders Cup Classic and Belmont Stakes. He is a member of the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame and the recipient of many prestigious awards, including the Mike Venezia Memorial Award.


He was born in Roswell, New Mexico and won his first major race in 1990 at the Manhattan Handicap.
