About Mike Thaler

Children s author and illustrator with more than 200 books to his name who would earn the nicknames of America s Riddle King and The Court Jester of Children s Literature.


He used to draw cartoons for adults. After a children s book editor discovered one his cartoons in a national magazine, he encouraged Thaler to try out writing books for children.


He created “The Letterman” for the PBS Electric Company series The Adventures of Letterman.
