About Misty Edwards

Christian musician known for having released more than half a dozen successful albums, including Only a Shadow and Little Bird which both topped out at #7 on the US Christian charts.


She began writing songs as a teenager. Then, at nineteen, she became an intern at the International House of Prayer and eventually became a worship leader for the church.


In 1998, at the age of 19 she was diagnosed with chancer and spent the next six years in chemotherapy and radiation therapy before it went into remission.

Her mother, Donna Joyce Edwards, was a music teacher and exposed her to music early in life. Her father, Robert Luther Edwards, was a preacher. She and her older sister Summer and her young brother Clay were homeschooled.
