About Elpidio Quirino

From 1948 until 1953, this Liberal Party turned Nacionalista Party politician served as the sixth President of the Philippines. Previously, he had served as Vice President, Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Secretary of the Interior, Secretary of Finance, and President Pro Tempore of the Philippine Senate.

His marriage to Alicia Syquia produced children named Tomas, Armando, Norma, Victoria, and Fe. Victoria served as First Lady of the Philippines after her mother and three of her siblings were tragically murdered during World War II by Japanese troops occupying the Philippines.
