About Holly Holm

Mixed martial artist, kickboxer and boxer who who won eighteen world championships in three different weight classes during her boxing career. She signed a deal to compete in Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2014 and became the first fighter to defeat Ronda Rousey in November 2015.

She got her start in aerobics at the University of New Mexico and was encouraged to try kickboxing by her coach Mike Winkeljohn.

She was named New Mexico Boxing Fighter of the Year six consecutive times from 2005 to 2010 and was inducted into the New Mexico Boxing Hall of Fame in 2013. Her victory over Rousey made her the first person to win a boxing and MMA championship.

She married Jeff Kirkpatrick in 2012. Her father is a preacher, which earned her the nickname “The Preacher s Daughter.”

She won the UFC Bantamweight title after beating Rousey, but lost it to Miesha Tate in her first title defense.
