About John MacLean

Longtime New Jersey Devils right winger who served as head coach of the team for half of the 2010-2011 season. He also served as the assistant coach of the Carolina Hurricanes from 2011 until 2014 and the Arizona Coyotes beginning in July 2017.

Selected 6th overall in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft, he helped his team enter the playoffs for the first time in 1988, and was selected to the All-Star team the following year.

He joined the coaching staff of the Devils in 2002, and earned the head coaching spot in 2010; but after a record of 9-22, the Devils fired him.
