About Phyllis Reynolds Naylor

Most famous for her Newbery Medal winning Shiloh series, Naylor also penned The Witch Saga series; the controversial Alice books; the Besseldorf Mysteries, and numerous other works of young adult fiction.


After earning a bachelor s degree from American University, she published her debut children s work, The Galloping Goat and Other Stories.


Her first Shiloh novel earned not only the prestigious Newbery Medal, but also the Mark Twain Readers Award; the Sequoyah Children s Book Award; a Library Association Notable Children s Book designation; and the William Allen White Children s Book Award.
