About TobyMac

Born Kevin Michael McKeehan, he pioneered Christian rap as a member of DC Talk and received a Grammy Award for Alive and Transported, his 2009 album.

He formed the band DC Talk with Michael Tait in 1987 and they later co-wrote “Let s Roll,” a song about the September 11, 2001 attacks.

His 2007 album Portable Sounds sold 50,645 copies in its first week, hit #1 on the SoundScan Contemporary Christian Overall chart, and received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album.

He married Amanda Levy McKeehan in 1994. They raised five children: Truett, born September 4, 1998; twins Moses and Marlee, adopted 2002; Leo, born November 2, 2004; and Judah, born March 24, 2006. Truett tragically passed away in 2019.

He released his first Christmas album, Christmas in Diverse City, on October 4, 2011. Owl City s Adam Young appeared as a guest singer.
