About Robin Knox-Johnston

English sailor famous for becoming the first man to successfully perform a solo, non-stop circumnavigation of the Earth. He is the author of several books about his adventures, including A World of My Own and A Voyage for Madmen.


He served in the Merchant Navy and the Royal Naval Reserve for nine years.


He completed another solo voyage around the globe in the VELUX 5 Oceans Race at age 67, becoming the oldest sailor ever to do so.
