About Rocio Banquells

Famous for albums such as Entrega Total (1987) and the self-titled Rocio Banquells (1985), this versatile Mexican vocalist also had a successful career as an actress, starring in the hit telenovela Los Ricos Tambien Lloran.


In the late 1960s, she appeared in an episode of the telenovela Gutierritoz and went on to pursue a professional stage career, starring in a 1978 production of The Sound of Music.


In the first decade of the 21st century, she participated in the reality television program Cantando por un Sueno.

The daughter of actors Dina de Marco and Rafael Banquells and the half-sister of actress Sylvia Pasquel, she grew up in Monterrey, Mexico. Her marriages to Pedro Mendez and Jorge Berlanga resulted in children named Pamela and Rodrigo.
