Right-handed middle order batsman for India from 1987 to 1996, and later a cricket commentator and analyst.


He won both the Vizzy Trophy and the Rohinton Baria Trophy in 1985 while playing at Mumbai University.


He scored more than two thousand runs in Test cricket at an average of 37.14.
