About Stephan Braunfels
Designer of the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, one of the largest museums in Germany; it was begun in 1992 and completed in 2002, winning prizes and critical acclaim.
He graduated from the Technical University of Munich in 1975. He opened his offices in 1978 in Munich. He served as an architectural advisor from 1991 until 1993 to the City of Dresden.
He designed two buildings for the German Parliament, including its office building, Paul Löbe Haus, which won first prize in 1994 and opened in 2001.
