About Eng Bunker
One half of the Bunker brothers known for being the Thai-American conjoined twins whose birth place became the basis for the term “Siamese twins”. He is also known for his performances and for owning and operating a cotton plantation in North Carolina.
Early Life Experience of Eng Bunker
In 1829, Robert Hunter paid his parents to allow him to showcase the twins as a sideshow oddity all over the world. While on tour, he visited Wilkesboro, North Carolina where he then chose to start and open up a cotton plantation in Traphill.
They were the inspiration for a Singapore musical based on their lives directed by Ekachai Uekrongtham and written by Ming Wong.
Family Life and Relationship
He was born and raised in Samut Songkram, Siam. He married Sarah Anne Yates in 1843 and together they had ten children.
He was featured in the Darin Strauss novel Chang and Eng. The film rights to the novel were later sold to Gary Oldman.Tags: bunker
