Art and aesthetics philosopher who spent his nearly forty-year university teaching career at Swarthmore College and Temple University. His publications include Aesthetics: A Short History and Practical Logic.


He obtained both his Bachelor s degree and his Ph.D. from Yale University.


He was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1976.
