About Ludwig Schuncke
Musician whose talents promised a brilliant career, all of which was shattered by his death from tuberculosis when he was only 23.
Early Life Experience of Ludwig Schuncke
He was celebrated by the time he was 11, especially for his performance of Johann Nepomuk Hummel’s Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 85, and his subsequent concert tour of Germany.
His studies in Paris were augmented with a job demonstrating Duport pianos.
Family Life and Relationship
His father Johann Gottfried Schuncke was his first teacher. His uncle Johann Michael Schuncke and his father were professional horn players.
He resided next to Robert Schumann while living in Leipzig, and the two became fast friends.
