About Stan Getz

One of the greatest jazz saxophonists of all time rose to become forever known with his hit, “The Girl from Ipanema.”


He grew up wanting to play every instrument he could get his hands on, but at age thirteen he focused exclusively to the saxophone.


He played with jazz greats Oscar Peterson, Jimmy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, and others.

Antonio Carlos Jobim worked with Stan Getz to write most of his most famous jazz standards, but Getz s unique sound brought the notes to life.
