About Tony Anselmo

2009 Disney Legend Award recipient for became the voice of Donald Duck in 1985. He first voiced the character in a TV program called D-TV Valentine.


He became fascinated with anything and everything Disney after seeing the film Mary Poppins when he was five years old. He attended the California Institute of the Arts on a Disney Family Fellowship.


He was an animation contributor on more than 20 Disney features, including The Lion King, Tarzan and The Little Mermaid.

His grandfather brought his family over to the United States from Italy. He and his family moved from Salt Lake City, Utah to northern California when he was seven years old.
