About Tony Nathan

All-Pro running back with the Miami Dolphins who won a National Championship while playing for the University of Alabama. As a coach, he was an assistant under Don Shula, became the Dolphins running back coach in 1993, and later filled the same position under Tony Dungy from 1996 to 2001.

Early Life of Tony Nathan

He is notable for being one of the first black football players at Woodlawn High School in his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. His high school career became the subject of the 2015 film Woodlawn.

He, Curtis Martin and Michael Strahan were inducted into the same Senior Bowl Hall of Fame class in 2006.

He was born Tony Curtis Nathan in Birmingham, Alabama. He and his wife Johnnie Nathan have children named Nichole, Nadia, and Natalie Nathan.
