A group of researchers 11,000 meters deep underwater face a natural disaster that causes their vehicle to be destroyed. They are forced to walk the ocean floor with insufficient oxygen and discover a deadly creature.

William Eubank directed the movie from a script by Brian Duffield and Adam Cozad. The $60 million film premiered on the same day as Like a Boss and on the same day as wide release expansions for 1917 and Just Mercy.
