About Vernon Scannell

Boxer and award-winning poet who wrote the collection of war poems “Walking Wounded” based on his experiences during World War II. In 1960, he became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and was awarded the Cholmondeley Award for poetry in 1974.
