Famous for being the oldest Jamaican person ever and first verified Jamaican supercentenarian. She became the world s oldest person as of April 2017 until her death at the age of 117 on September 15, 2017. 


She was baptized at the age of 13.


She became the last living former subject of Queen Victoria while Jamaica was still part of the British Empire.

She and her three siblings were born to parents John Mosse, a sugar boiler, and Elizabeth Riley. She had a daughter with her husband Augustus Gaynor Brown. She had three other children as well.
