About Alex Henshaw

1930s air racer and test pilot for Britain s most famous plane of World War II, the Spitfire.


He won the King s Cup Air Race and set a record in a flight to Cape Town, South Africa.


He flew more than 2,300 Spitfires between 1940 and 1945, about one out of every 10 built.
