About Yves Tanguy

Surrealist painter known for works such as “Indefinite Divisibility” from 1942 and “Mama, Papa is Wounded!” from 1927.


He was the son of a navy captain and briefly joined the military himself during the second decade of the 1900s.


His paintings heavily influenced the style of the animated French film “Le Roi et L Oiseau” from 1980.
