About Chris Ryan

British author and former SAS sergeant who rose to fame for his debut 1993 book The One That Got Away, which portrayed the infamous Bravo Two Zero mission he took part in. His 2007 novel and book series Strike Back was adapted into the BBC/HBO TV show of the same name.


He enlisted in the British Army at age 16. He was honorably discharged from the SAS in 1994 after having made the longest escape and evasion by a British soldier during the Bravo Two Zero mission s aftermath. 


He created the hugely popular action novel character Geordie Sharp, who has appeared in four books of his. He hosted the popular British Bravo TV series Elite World Cops in 2008.
