About John Candelaria

Left-handed pitcher who was an All-Star in 1977 and won the World Series in 1979 as a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates.


He played basketball for the Quebradillas Pirates in Puerto Rico prior to playing pro baseball.


During his 1977 All-Star campaign, he won 20 games and posted a league-leading 2.34 ERA.
