About Michael Berresse

Perhaps best known for his Olivier and Tony-nominated role as Bill Calhoun in the musical Kiss Me, Kate. He has also appeared in Broadway productions of Guys and Dolls, Chicago, The Light in the Piazza, and A Chorus Line. In 2018, he began appearing in the Broadway musical The Cher Show.


He first appeared on Broadway in the early 1990s revival of Fiddler on the Roof. Two years later, he competed on and won Star Search along with fellow members of a dance troupe called The Boys Back East.


Also a choreographer, he received an Obie Award for his work on the off-Broadway production of the musical Title of Show. He acted in several movies, including The Bourne Legacy and A.I.

He and his three older siblings grew up in Holyoke, Massachusetts, as the children of an engineer father and an artist mother. His life partner, Jeff Bowen, had a successful career as a stage actor and musical theater composer.
