About Claude Choules

English-Australian military veteran who served in Australian Navy during both World Wars. He witnessed the scuttling of the German fleet in Scapa Flow in 1919 and was interviewed for documentaries like The Last Tommy.


He quit school at age fourteen and began serving on the TS Mercury in 1915.


At the time of his death at age 110, he was the oldest man in Australia.
