American poet who won the 1997 National Poetry Series Open Competition for his poem The Origins of the Evening.


He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kutztown University in 1971 and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1974.


His work called The Homestead Trilogy contains nearly 100 poems that probe the industrial history and culture of America s Steel City.
