About William Dewitt Jr.

Businessman who was owner of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team during a period when the team won two World Series. He was appointed to the President s Intelligence Advisory Board in 2003.


He studied economics at Yale University and went on to receive his M.B.A. from Harvard in 1965.


His business ventures and investments include relationships with such sports teams as the Cincinnati Reds and the Baltimore Orioles, as well as with fast food, playing card, and petroleum enterprises.

His father, Bill DeWitt, was also a Major League Baseball team owner (for the Cincinnati Reds and the St. Louis Browns). William DeWitt and his wife, Katharine Cramer DeWitt, became parents to two sons and two daughters.
