About Spragga Benz

Born Carlton Arrington Grant, this Jamaican dancehall DJ became known for hit singles like “Oh Yeah” featuring Foxy Brown. He was in high demand in the 90 s, collaborating with artists like Wyclef Jean.


He was nicknamed “Spaghetti” by his friends, which later served as the inspiration for his “Spragga” monker.


He branched out into acting in 2001, appearing in the film Babylon.

His son, Carlton Grant Jr., tragically died from gunshot wounds in 2008, inspiring Benz to found the Carlisle Foundation to assist troubled youth. He also had a daughter named Shanice.
