Inspired by oboist Blair Tindall s 2005 memoir Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs, and Classical Music, this comedic-drama centers on a new maestro in the New York Symphony and an aspiring young oboist looking for her breakthrough.

Roman Coppola and Jason Schwartzman are two of the creators of the show. It won the 2016 Golden Globe for Best Television Series Comedy with Gael Garcia Bernal taking home the Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy award that same year.
