About Mark Murray

American journalist who is best recognized for being the NBC News senior political editor. He writes and edits for their blog First Read and also makes appearances on MSNBC and Washington DC s NBC affiliate station. 


During his junior year at the University of Texas, he walked into the Daily Texan campus newspaper and began working as a columnist. After working several internships at different magazines, he landed a job reporting at National Journal Magazine. He then joined NBC News in 2003. 


He is known for having taught a seminar titled “What the Media Missed in 2016 & What Must Change in 2020” at the University of Chicago in the Spring of 2018.

He was born and raised in Texas and later moved to Washington D.C.. He married Sasha Johnson in September of 2007 and together they have a son named Caleb.
