About Burton Greene

Free jazz artist rose to become popular in the 1960s and later experimented with the Klezmer medium and avant-garde jazz.


He and Alan Silva founded the Free Form Improvisation Ensemble in 1963.


He moved to the Netherlands in 1969, becoming a journeyman performer, traversing Europe, and living on a houseboat.
