About Grant Johannesen

Concert performer who was a master of French piano music and an expert on Gabriel Fauré s repertoire, recording his complete piano works.


His talents were discovered at age five by a teacher who was one of his family s neighbors. He was only 28 when he came in first at the Concours International.


He was the Cleveland Institute of Music s director from 1974 until 1985.
